Source standards

We use official sources only. Federal programs follow benefits.gov and the program's own site (medicaid.gov, fns.usda.gov, irs.gov, etc.); state details follow that state's own government agency; anything about public charge follows the USCIS Policy Manual; income thresholds follow the HHS federal poverty guidelines. We do not treat blogs, news write-ups, law-firm marketing pages, or social media as sources of fact. If we can only find a non-official source for something, we mark it "pending" and leave it out rather than publish it.

How we cite

Every key fact (income limits, how to apply, immigration rules, public charge treatment) carries its own citation: the publishing agency, the document, the date the document took effect, the date we checked it, plus a link and a short excerpt of the original text. Excerpts are kept in the original English — translations are for understanding; the official English text governs.

How often we re-check

Policies change, so we re-check on a schedule that depends on the type of content: public charge content and fast-moving facts (income limits, premiums, enrollment status) are re-checked at least every 90 days; application processes about every 180 days; program descriptions yearly; the federal poverty guidelines each January when HHS updates them. Content past its re-check window is flagged and is excluded from the structured FAQ data we publish, so out-of-date information is not surfaced directly in search results.

What we don't do

· We do not decide whether you qualify — only the agency can; we only explain that you may qualify, and why.

· We do not give legal advice, and never judge whether your personal status will be affected.

· We neither urge you to apply nor urge you to give up; we give facts and the official link, and the decision is yours.

· When official sources disagree, we show both as they are rather than picking one on the government's behalf.
